The Position

- Travel to customer sites for inspections, maintenance and repairs

- Service and maintain emergency standby generators
- Perform generator load bank testing
- Complete service calls and repairs
- Complete service reports and communicate professionally with customers

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a hands-on mechanic who knows how to troubleshoot, rather than someone who simply replaces parts.

Experience in any of the following would be valuable:

- Diesel Mechanic
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
- Truck & Coach Technician
- Agricultural Equipment Technician
- Industrial Mechanic
- Mobile Equipment Technician
- Field Service Technician
- Generator Technician

Previous mobile or field-service experience is strongly preferred. You should be comfortable arriving at a customer site, assessing the problem and completing the work with the tools and resources available to you.

Qualifications

- Solid hands-on experience with diesel-powered equipment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Comfortable working independently
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required
- Electrical troubleshooting experience is an asset
- Comfortable using a multimeter and other diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams or willingness to learn
- Good communication and customer-service skills
- Dependable and safety-minded
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean abstract

Generator experience is an asset, but is not required.

A trade licence or certification is an asset, but is not required. We place a high value on practical experience, diagnostic ability and the ability to work independently in the field.

What We Offer

- Full-time, year-round employment
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Paid benefits
- Company service vehicle
- Company-provided tools and equipment as applicable
- Variety of field-service work
- Generator and electrical training
- Chance to expand your mechanical and diagnostic skills
- A hands-on work environment with independence in the field

The Right Fit

If you're an experienced mechanic who likes being out in the field, enjoys troubleshooting and doesn't need someone standing over your shoulder, we'd like to hear from you.

We're more interested in what you can do than what your job title says.

Please submit your resume through Indeed.
