The Project Accountant will be responsible for supporting the financial management of multiple construction projects from start to finish. This role will work closely with Project Managers, Coordinators, and the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting, strong cost control, timely billing, and reliable project financial information.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Manage project accounting activities, including project setup, budgets, forecasts, job cost reporting, WIP schedules, and reconciliations.

· Prepare and review monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, cost-to-complete updates, and margin tracking for active construction projects.

· Support progress billing, draws, change orders, holdbacks, lien-related documentation, and contract administration requirements.

· Work closely with Project Managers and Coordinators to monitor costs, identify risks, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely financial insight.

· Maintain accurate project records and supporting documentation for audits, internal reviews, client requirements, and project closeout.

· Assist with accounts receivable follow-up, collections, subcontractor documentation, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

· Must have accounting experience in the construction industry.

· 5–7 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in project accounting, job costing, or a related construction finance role.

· Strong understanding of WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, contract billing, progress draws, change orders,



and holdbacks.

· Experience working with Project Managers and operational teams in a deadline-driven environment.

· Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems; construction accounting software experience is an asset.

· Solid attention to detail, analytical skills, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
