KLONDIKE Lubricants
Langley
About KLONDIKE For over 35 years, KLONDIKE Lubricants has challenged the status quo to become one of Canada’s leading independent manufacturers and marketers of high-performance commercial, industrial, and automotive lubricants, greases, and specialty chemicals.
KLONDIKE manages a portfolio of more than 650 SKUs and sells exclusively through a distributor network of over 700 independent distributors across Canada and the United States. These distributors, in turn, serve a wide range of end markets including automotive, heavy-duty on-road and off-road, mining, forestry, agriculture, and industrial applications.
KLONDIKE does not sell directly to end users or mass merchandisers. This disciplined approach has allowed the company to build long-term, trust-based partnerships and consistently deliver profitable growth.
Building on its strong Canadian foundation, KLONDIKE is also in the early stages of expanding its presence in the United States. This growth is intentional and disciplined, following the same distributor-focused model that has driven success in Canada, and represents an important next chapter in the company’s long-term growth strategy.
KLONDIKE’s business model is built around one simple guiding principle: We Grow Independent Business.
This philosophy shapes how the company designs products, sets pricing, manages inventory, delivers service, and partners with distributors. KLONDIKE is positioned just below the global majors on price, while meeting or exceeding required industry specifications and certifications. The company competes on value, trust, availability, and technical credibility — not on being the cheapest option in the market.
Manufacturing and warehousing are fully outsourced to long-term strategic partners, while KLONDIKE invests heavily in inventory across six warehouses. Supply chain reliability and product availability are core competitive advantages and key drivers of distributor loyalty.

www.snowdonpartners.ca The Role
KLONDIKE Lubricants is seeking a high-caliber AI Solutions Architect to turn defined business opportunities into working AI-enabled solutions. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can bridge business process, software integration, automation, applied AI, and who measures success by what is actually deployed and used.
KLONDIKE is building a role-based AI operating model across Sales, Technical, Client Care, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Finance. The strategy is to create defined digital roles that follow KLONDIKE processes, use approved systems and data, and operate within clear governance and authority limits.
Working directly with the CEO and functional leaders, the role turns clearly scoped problems into technical solutions, from agents to production-ready processes. The successful candidate owns the hardening work required to make AI dependable for day-to-day operations. The role will also help KLONDIKE build toward a future orchestration layer that coordinates the broader agent network, manages information flow, source consistency, monitors quality, and provides visibility into agent performance and exceptions.
Who You Are
You are a practical builder who is comfortable moving between a business process discussion and the technical implementation required to make it work. You can understand a functional leader’s objectives,
identify gaps in the process or specifications, and translate them into solutions that are simple to use and robust enough to trust. You expect APIs to fail, permissions to change, source data to be imperfect, and model behavior to vary.
You design for those realities with validation, retries, exception paths, logging, quality checks, and human approval where required.
You work with urgency without sacrificing reliability, prototype quickly, and understand the difference between a demo and a production workflow. You take ownership of the last 20%: testing, documentation, error handling, deployment, support, and iteration. You stay current as AI platforms change without chasing every new tool. You select the best fit while protecting KLONDIKE's data, process integrity, and systems of record.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Build
- Translate scoped business opportunities into technical designs, build plans, and working pilots.
- Build AI agents, workflow automations, internal tools, and system-assisted processes that solve defined operating problems.
- Select the simplest architecture that can deliver the required business outcome without creating unnecessary technical complexity.
- Rapidly prototype concepts, then harden successful pilots for dependable day-to-day use.
- Challenge incomplete or weak specifications and work with business owners to resolve process gaps before automating them.
Systems, Data & Integration
- Integrate AI workflows with approved systems and data, including SAP Business One, HubSpot, Power BI, Valogix, SharePoint, Outlook, and core commercial and product data.
- Build and maintain API-based integrations, authentication flows, connectors, data transformations, and system handoffs.
- Preserve source-of-truth rules and stable identifiers, including BP Code where commercial and CRM data are connected.
- Design solutions so data access, confidentiality, permissions, and write-back authority match the intended business role.
- Create reusable integration patterns so successful solutions can be extended across functions rather than rebuilt from scratch.
Testing, Quality & Reliability
- Own functional testing, edge-case testing, regression testing, and business-user acceptance testing before rollout.
- Build validation and quality checks for model outputs, data transformations, document generation, and system write-backs.
- Design for failure with retries, idempotency, timeout handling, exception routing, audit trails, and clear recovery paths.
- Implement practical monitoring and observability so failures can be detected, understood, and corrected quickly.
- Establish repeatable evaluation standards so AI performance is measured rather than assumed.
Deployment, Adoption & Continuous Improvement
- Deploy solutions in controlled stages with clear ownership, user instructions, approval requirements, and escalation paths.
- Work directly with business users during pilots to capture friction, identify failure modes, and improve the workflow before wider rollout.
- Document architecture, source rules, permissions, known limitations, operating procedures,
and support requirements.
- Monitor adoption and business impact after launch and prioritize improvements based on reliability and value delivered.
- Maintain working solutions as underlying AI models, platforms, connectors, and business processes change.
Platform, Vendor & Technical Ownership
- Evaluate AI platforms, agent frameworks, automation tools, and integration approaches based on business fit, reliability, security, and total cost.
- Use specialist consultants selectively where they accelerate delivery or provide expertise not required full-time, while retaining internal ownership of the solution architecture and operating knowledge.
- Manage technical vendors and consultants to defined scopes, deliverables, quality standards, and timelines.
- Reduce dependence on any single AI interface or vendor by designing portable processes and preserving KLONDIKE-owned instructions, data definitions, and documentation.
Future Agent Orchestration
- Help design the future AI orchestration layer that coordinates work across KLONDIKE's network of functional AI roles.
- Create common patterns for workflow routing, information synchronization, agent-to-agent handoffs, quality assurance, monitoring, and exception management.
- Support consistent source rules and version control across the agent network so different roles operate from the same approved information.
- Build toward a scalable AgentOps capability with visibility into usage, performance, quality, cost, failures, and change history.
Your Profile
- 5+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, automation, systems integration, or a related hands-on technical role.
- Experience building and deploying real-world AI/LLM workflows using modern LLM platforms and agent/orchestration tools; able to evaluate and build across platforms.
- Strong working capability with Python, REST APIs, JSON, SQL/data manipulation, authentication concepts, and workflow automation.
- Experience integrating ERP, CRM, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and email platforms.
- Strong understanding of production reliability: testing, logging, monitoring, exception handling, permissions, data validation, and secure system write-back.
- Ability to map a business process, from identifying failure points and exceptions to translating into practical technical workflow.
- Strong judgment about when AI should recommend, prepare, request approval, or take action /not take action.
- Comfortable working independently from clear objectives with minimal overhead.
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical leaders and users.
- Experience with SAP Business One, HubSpot, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, Azure, OpenAI/Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable platforms is an asset.
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, industrial products, or inventory-intensive environments is a plus.
