Assurance Staff Accountant

We are looking for a senior staff accountant to join our growing team. This is a chance to join a dynamic organization, learn from a diverse team and engage with clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate would be interested in pursuing further growth and development into an accounting/assurance manager with a potential partnership aspiration.

Please note that we are also looking for Junior and Intermediate level Staff Accountants to join our growing team. All experienced Staff Accountants are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for carrying out high-quality audit and other assurance services to clients in multiple industries.

· In-charge in obtaining all necessary audit/review working papers and documentation including researching and documenting facts and findings.

· Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to managers and partners

· Independent, timely preparation and completion of working papers and financial statements for Compilations by gathering and analyzing information from the client’s bookkeeping records.

- Assist clients with accounting/bookkeeping services as required.

· Full preparation and review of individual and corporate tax returns,



ensuring compliance with Canadian tax laws and regulations. This includes recognizing and anticipating client issues and risks, and providing solutions if necessary. · Communicate effectively with clients to obtain accounting records, financial information, and supporting documentation.

· Maintain a solid knowledge of accounting standards applicable to the Canadian financial reporting framework (IFRS, ASPE, etc.) and relevant assurance standards.

· Having a working knowledge of professional engagement tools and tax software.

· Ability to manage clients without detailed supervision from managers and partners.

Qualifications and Skills

· Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of CPA firm experience preferred, including personal tax returns.

· CPA designation or significant progress toward CPA designation, in a public accounting stream.

· Strong business awareness and attention to details, an ability to identify audit issues arising from commercial transactions.

· Team player, with the ability to multi-task, adaptable and can work under pressure.

· Effectively manages multiple engagements and competing deadlines.

· Socially confident with good organization and communication skills.

· Self starter with good analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving

· Working knowledge of CaseWare, Quickbooks (QBD and QBO) and Profile

· Proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to communicate in Chinese, an asset.

Salary Range

· The expected base salary range for this role is $40,000 - $50,000 a year and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination is based on the individual’s skills and qualifications.
