Job summary The Automotive Service Installer works in a fast-paced Automotive Service Centre environment. The role includes oil and lube service, tire installation, tire rotation and balancing and light vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Wage

Competitive wage based on experience, current apprenticeship level and demonstrated skills, with opportunities for wage increases as skills and responsibilities progress.

Responsibilities

Perform customer vehicle routine maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections ).





Inspect brakes, suspension, steering, exhaust and other vehicle components and accurately document findings.

Follow manufacturer specifications, shop procedures and safety requirements.

Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.

Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.

Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.

Maintain a clean & organized work area and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

Valid driver's license for province of employment

Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching

Ability to work shifts (days & week-ends)

Approachable

Ability to work in a quick-paced environment

Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions

Knowledge of current automobile technology

Ability to work effectively with computerized systems

Results-oriented

Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)

Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)

*Sucessful candidates should be registered with Skilled Trades BC and have completed a minimum of L1 Training
