Lead community engagement initiatives as the Park Stewardship Program Lead for the City of Edmonton. This role focuses on fostering public interaction with parks and green spaces. As a Recreation Officer 1, you will plan, deliver, and assess stewardship programs that promote care and use of parks.
Engage with residents and local organizations to create a collaborative setting while overseeing program budgets and team mentorship. Your efforts will contribute to enhancing community connectedness and environmental awareness. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and improve park stewardship initiatives and community gardens
- Track and manage program budgets for efficiency
- Engage local communities and gather input for enhancements
- Develop communications to promote park activities
- Administer grant applications and oversee teams Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or similar
- Minimum three years in park operations or community recreation
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License needed
- Current Standard First Aid certification with CPR-C required
- Experience in community outreach programs is advantageous Become a critical player in connecting Edmontonians with their local parks.
