Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser
$19/hr guaranteed + bonuses | 32–40 hours/week | GTA
Want a job where you're out in the world, meeting people, and doing work that actually matters?
We're looking for outgoing, motivated people who like being around others, want to make an impact, and are ready to build skills they can take with them wherever they go.
As a Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser, you'll be out in the community representing nonprofit organizations and talking with people about causes that matter — from disaster relief and support for children and families to animal welfare, human rights, and social justice. You'll learn about the issues your nonprofit partner is working on, share their work with the public, and inspire people to get involved by becoming monthly donors.
If you're social, energetic, and looking for work that's active, meaningful, and lets you meet people, you might be a great fit.
Fair warning: this is definitely not a desk job. You'll spend most of your shift outside, walking, standing, and talking to people face-to-face — rain or shine. If you'd rather be moving around and meeting people than staring at a computer all day, you'll probably like it here.
One more thing we want to be upfront about:
This is a goal-oriented fundraising job. You'll speak with lots of people each day to inspire them to become monthly donors for the nonprofit you're representing. You'll get paid training, ongoing coaching, and plenty of support from your team, but fundraising can be challenging. You'll hear "no" a lot, and not every conversation turns into a donation. Your performance will be regularly coached and evaluated based on your ability to engage the public and successfully sign up new donors.
If you're resilient, motivated by clear goals, open to feedback, and get satisfaction from improving your results, you'll probably enjoy the challenge.

Who we're looking for
Come as you are. We think work is better when you can actually be yourself. Our team includes members of the LGBTQ+ community, and creating a space where people feel safe, respected, supported, and welcome is genuinely important to us.
You don't need fundraising experience — we'll teach you that. We're looking for people who bring energy,
resilience, and curiosity, and who are comfortable being coached and working toward measurable goals.
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are naturally social and comfortable starting conversations with strangers
- Are motivated by goals and like seeing yourself improve
- Can stay positive and keep going after hearing "no"
- Are comfortable receiving regular feedback and coaching
- Enjoy getting people excited about taking action
- Are reliable and can commit to a consistent schedule
- Like being active and would rather be on your feet than behind a desk
- Care about nonprofit, humanitarian, environmental, animal welfare, human rights, or social justice causes
- Want to build your communication, confidence, and leadership skills
You don't need to check every box or come with fundraising experience. If you're someone who likes people, cares about making a difference, can handle hearing "no," and is motivated to improve with coaching, we'd love to hear from you. This could be a great fit if you're a canvasser, community organizer, student, recent graduate, hospitality or customer service qualified, salesperson, volunteer, performer, or someone looking to break into the nonprofit world.
Why join our team?
You'll get to:
- Help shape the team culture
- Build confidence, communication, and leadership skills
- Take on more responsibility as the team grows
- Get experience you can take with you into nonprofit, advocacy, sales, communications, or leadership
- Grow your career with a company that promotes from within
If you get good at this, there's room to move up. All of our leaders started as fundraisers, learned to hit their goals, and developed the skills to coach others to do the same. Along the way, they've built their resumes, developed real leadership experience, and turned a fundraising job into a career.
Fundraising can also be a stepping stone into the nonprofit sector,
giving you hands-on experience in advocacy, donor engagement, communication, and community outreach.
Schedule
This role requires a minimum commitment of 4 full shifts per week (30 hours). Each shift is 7.5 hours long, and we're looking for people who can consistently work within one of our regular schedules:
- Monday–Friday: 10:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Monday–Friday: 12:30 PM–8:00 PM
- Wednesday–Sunday: 10:30 AM–6:00 PM
You don't need to be available for every shift listed above, but you do need to be able to consistently work at least 4 full shifts each week.
Get paid for your time — not just your results.
- $20/hour guaranteed base pay — you're NOT working on commission, and your hourly wage isn't dependent on how many donors you sign up
- Performance-based bonuses and incentives on top of your hourly pay
- Paid training — we'll teach you what you need to know
- Opportunities to grow into leadership and advance your career
- Health, dental, and vision benefits for full-time employees and their families after 6 months of full-time work
- Paid time off
- Employee assistance resources and support when you need it
Bottom line: you get a guaranteed hourly wage, with extra earning potential on top.
Before you apply
- You must be 18+
- You must be legally authorized to work in Canada without employer sponsorship
- You must be able to consistently work at least 4 full, 8-hour shifts per week
- You should be comfortable being outdoors, on your feet, and walking for most of your shift
- You need to be able to communicate confidently in English, since you'll be having lots of conversations with people throughout the day
No fundraising experience? No problem — we'll provide paid training and ongoing coaching. What matters is being ready for the challenge: talking to lots of people, hearing “no,” working toward fundraising goals, taking feedback, and continuing to improve.
