Indigenous individuals in navigating the criminal justice system. In this full-time term position, you will work directly with Indigenous relatives to develop and implement healing-oriented plans. As a cultural guide, you will utilize trauma-informed practices to prepare Gladue Reports, fostering accountability and wellness within the community. Collaborate with First Nations, Elders, and local organizations to create effective support systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Gather life histories through interviews with affected individuals
- Facilitate access to essential community-based support services
- Prepare and submit Gladue Reports reflecting individual stories
- Monitor Healing & Wellness Plans to ensure ongoing support
- Promote culturally safe and healing-centered program delivery Requirements:
- Post-secondary qualification in Indigenous studies or related fields
- Proven experience in restorative justice and engagement with communities
- Strong understanding of Gladue and Indigenous justice systems
- Solid communication, networking, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to travel and work outside regular hours as needed Make a meaningful impact in Indigenous communities through this vital role.
