This full-time role focuses on providing expert advice in labor relations within a dynamic policing environment. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Labour Relations Specialist plays a vital role in supporting sworn police officers, civilian employees, and peace officers.
This position requires the interpretation of collective agreements and guidance on grievance management, workplace investigations, and arbitration processes. You'll work collaboratively with leaders, union representatives, and HR colleagues to ensure compliant and effective labor relations practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert labor relations advice to leadership and HR partners
- Interpret and apply collective agreements and policies
- Support grievance management and arbitration preparations
- Advise on workplace investigations and performance issues
- Build relationships with unions and internal stakeholders Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in HR or related field
- Four years of labor relations experience
- Experience in a unionized public sector environment
- Strong knowledge of Alberta labor laws
