As a Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering Technology Student, you will join the Nuclear Engineering team and contribute to innovative projects that support the development and delivery of world-class nuclear technologies. This co-op opportunity provides hands-on experience, exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments, and the chance to apply mechanical engineering and engineering technology principles in real-world project settings.

Your Role

- Support Engineers, Designers, Discipline Leads, and Engineering Managers in day-to-day engineering and project activities.
- Assist in the development and assembly of engineering deliverables for nuclear and conventional mechanical systems.
- Support mechanical design activities, equipment assessments, technical documentation, and engineering evaluations as assigned.
- Contribute to project execution in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including Document Control, Project Management, Procurement, and field teams, on assigned task scopes.
- Collaborate with members of the nuclear team to support workflow, document reviews, and Request for Information (RFI) activities.
- Assist with reviewing engineering drawings, technical specifications, calculations, and project documentation.
- Attend technical and project coordination meetings to support project delivery.
- Promote a positive team environment while contributing to engineering and project management activities.

About You





- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology program at an accredited Canadian university, college, or polytechnic institution.
- Ability to apply mechanical engineering or engineering technology fundamentals to develop practical solutions.
- Understanding of mechanical systems, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with engineering analysis, design, or drafting tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, or similar software is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
