Part Time Interim ARISE Teacher
Evergreen Catholic Separate School Division is seeking a Certified Teacher to provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs. This 0.5 FTE position focuses on supporting students who require targeted interventions to develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills in grades 5-12 at Fr.
Gerard Redmond Community Catholic
School in Hinton, AB. This assignment commences as soon as possible and ends on June 30, 2027 of the 2026-2027 school year.
The successful candidate will work closely with classroom teachers, learning support staff, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to design, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions that promote student success and inclusion.
About The ARISE Program
ARISE—Aligning Resilience, Inclusion, Success & Education—is a specialized,
student‑centered program designed to support learners with diverse needs. ARISE empowers students through individualized instruction, and a strengths‑based approach that fosters resilience, belonging, and meaningful growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess student strengths, needs, and learning profiles using formal and informal assessment tools.
- Plan and deliver individualized and small-group literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor targeted learning goals for students requiring specialized instruction.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional practices to support reading, writing,
- Monitor student progress and use data to inform instructional decisions and intervention planning.
- Participate in student support team meetings, case conferences, and educational planning processes.
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, programming, and strategies for support.
- Maintain accurate student records, documentation, and progress reports.
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative school culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Education degree.
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge of literacy and numeracy development and intervention strategies.
- Experience supporting students with a variety of learning needs, including students with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, communication challenges,
and other complex learning profiles.
- Strong assessment, planning, and data-analysis skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-oriented skills.
- A commitment to inclusive education and student-centered programming.
- A commitment to ongoing professional growth and learning
