As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will play a key role in defining and executing the visual and interactive experience of a new multiplayer mobile game.
You will be responsible for designing intuitive, readable, and engaging interfaces that support players throughout their journey. Your work will directly contribute to gameplay clarity, interaction fluidity, navigation quality, and the overall visual consistency of the product.
With a strong artistic sensibility and solid UX expertise, you will design interfaces that align with the product’s visual identity and are optimized to support the core gameplay loop. Leveraging your deep understanding of navigation and interaction design principles, you will create intuitive experiences that minimize friction for players.
This role combines strategy and execution, with a direct impact on gameplay readability, user experience, and overall product quality.
UX
- Design intuitive and optimized user experiences that minimize friction between the player and the game
- Define user journeys, information architecture, and interaction patterns that enable fast, natural, and efficient navigation
- Create interaction flows and prototypes to validate design concepts and hypotheses
- Continuously improve interfaces based on user testing, usage data, and player feedback
UI Art Direction (Contribution)
- Design and produce visually appealing interfaces that align with the game’s visual identity and mobile constraints
- Create UI assets required for the product, including menus, buttons, icons, notifications, pop-ups, illustrations, and more
- Contribute to the evolution of the project’s UI/UX art direction and help build a strong visual identity
- Ensure visual consistency across all game systems and features
- Create, integrate, and optimize UI assets in Unity while maintaining style guides and UI asset libraries
Prototyping & Iteration
- Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes
- Quickly turn concepts into testable prototypes
- Iterate on interfaces based on playtests, analytics, and player feedback
- Explore and test different UX approaches to optimize engagement and retention
- Collaborate closely with Design, Product, Programming, and Art teams to deliver a cohesive and high-quality player experience
- Contribute to discussions around gameplay readability, accessibility, and user experience
- Stay informed on industry best practices to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation
- Actively contribute to iteration and production processes throughout development
QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of UI/UX experience in the video game industry
- Significant experience working on mobile, multiplayer, mass-market, competitive, or similar games
- Experience working on free-to-play games
- Portfolio showcasing strong UI design and visual sensibility
- Robust proficiency in Unity (UI integration)
- Strong proficiency in Photoshop
- Proficiency in Figma (wireframes, user flows, interactive prototyping)
- Experience with motion design / UI animation (strong asset)
- Exceptional ability to simplify interfaces and user experiences
- Strong artistic sensibility and ability to influence UI visual direction
- Strong understanding of free-to-play UX systems, including:
- IAP flows
- Battle Pass
- Reward loops
- Onboarding
- Retention systems
- Strong understanding of real-time gameplay readability challenges
- Ability to balance aesthetics, fluidity, intuitiveness, and functional clarity
- Fast iteration and prototyping mindset
- Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into practical design solutions
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Highly autonomous, detail-oriented, and organized
- Comfortable working in a bilingual environment. Proficiency in both French and English is an asset for effective collaboration across bilingual teams.
- Hybrid role requiring presence in the office during key moments
- Candidates must be based in Quebec and hold a valid work permit in Canada
- Schedule: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday (core hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
