Our client is a leading provider of custom‑engineeredprocess‑equipment systems used across biotech, pharmaceutical, food, beverage,personal care and other advanced manufacturing sectors. They design, build,test and commission fully integrated stainless‑steel systems for high‑performanceproduction environments.

This role is ideal for a designer who enjoysturning engineering requirements into practical, buildable 3D models andsupporting fabrication teams throughout construction.

The Opportunity

As a Mechanical Designer, you willdevelop detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for custom process systems. Working from process designs, engineering sketches, P&IDs; andspecifications, you will produce the models, drawings and bills of materialrequired to build equipment in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

You’ll collaborate closely with processengineers, mechanical engineers, fabrication leads and skilled trades to ensuredesigns are accurate, buildable and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

3DModelling & Detailed Design

- Interpret engineering sketches, P&IDs;, specifications andclient drawings.
- Develop detailed 3D models of modular process systems using Solid Works.
- Use pipe‑routing and weldment tools to create accurate, fabrication‑readydesigns.
- Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings for equipment, piping andsupport structures.
- Maintain accurate bills of material for purchasing, fabrication andproject control.
- Create or revise AutoCAD drawings when required.

Engineering& Constructability

- Perform or verify mechanical design calculations appropriate to theassignment.
- Support stress, strain and thermal analysis using Solid Works Simulation when required.
- Review layouts for constructability, accessibility,



serviceabilityand installation.
- Lead model reviews with engineers and fabrication leads,incorporating required changes.
- Apply sound design practices, applicable codes and projectspecifications.

Fabrication Support & Design Control

- Provide timely technical support to engineers and fabricationtrades.
- Coordinate design changes with engineering and project‑managementteams.
- Visit the shop floor to confirm fit, resolve questions and ensuredesign intent is achieved.
- Maintain models, drawings and BOMs throughout revisions inaccordance with quality standards.
- Capture lessons learned and improve modelling practices andstandard details.

Requirements

What You Bring

- Mechanical Engineering Design Technology diploma, Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong Solid Works 3D‑modelling skills, including pipe routing andweldments.
- Experience preparing fabrication drawings, assembly drawings andbills of material.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience modelling sanitary or pharmaceutical piping is an asset.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs;, engineering sketches and mechanicaldrawings.
- Practical understanding of fabrication methods, welding, formedmetal and assembly.
- Experience with Solid Works Simulation or mechanical analysis is anasset.

What’sOffered

$75,000–$90,000 + advantages + RRSP matching
