About the job Mechanical Engineer | Heat Exchangers
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare mechanical design calculations for heat exchanger/air coolers.
- Facilitate the advance procurement of heat exchanger/air Coolers material by ensuring engineering accuracy of material on requisition.
- Check & approve heat exchanger/air coolers calculations and drawings. Review and approve heat exchanger/air coolers calculations if assigned to another engineer.
- Work with designers on drawings.
- Assist with technical clarifications and answer questions from regulatory authorities and shop personnel.
- Liaison with and lead sessions between shop personnel and field construction managers to discuss ways to improve design, fabrication, and installation of heat exchanger/air coolers.
- Optimize designs for economic efficiency based on types of materials, fabrication techniques, shipping considerations, etc.
- Assist/mentor other engineers and technologists with work (checking drawings, organizing work, technical advice).
- Coordinate with project engineers,
project managers and shop management on the execution of pressure equipment design work in accordance with project schedules.
- Develop standards/procedures related to the engineering and manufacturing of heat exchanger/air Coolers.
- Initiate, plan, execute, and monitor progress of the project with the project team to ensure adequate completion of deliverables and product within the allotted schedule and budget.
- Monitor the progress during project execution to ensure schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
- Communicate progress to required project stakeholders and address concerns accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
- 10 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering Management role.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a fabrication setting (Heat Exchanger/Air Coolers).
EDUCATION
- P.L. Designation (APEGA).
