THE OPPORTUNITY
At KCDSB, our Early Childhood Educators (ECE) play a vital role in helping our youngest learners thrive. Working as a valued member of the Full-Day Kindergarten team, you will partner with the classroom teacher to create engaging, inclusive, and faith-filled learning experiences that support each child's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging, developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences that align with the Kindergarten Program and supports children's growth and development
- Collaborate with the classroom teacher to observe, assess, and document student learning and progress
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and faith-centered learning environment where all students feel safe, valued, and respected
- Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners to support student success and well-being
- Contribute to learning environments that promote inquiry, creativity, exploration, and independence
- Support students' social, emotional, behavioural, and self-regulation development through responsive and caring interactions
- Participate in school faith activities, liturgies, prayer services, and initiatives that support the Catholic identity of the school
- Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality of students and family information
- Assist with student supervision during instructional and non-instructional times as assigned by the Principal
- Participate in staff meetings, professional learning opportunities, and collaborative school-based initiates
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Knowledge of the Kindergarten Program and Ministry of Education expectations related to early years learning
- Experience supporting young children in an educational or childcare setting is considered an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Effective organizational, observation, documentation, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and digital documentation tools
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising qualified judgment
- Ability to support and contribute to the Catholic learning environment and serve as a positive role model for students
