Friday 9am - 8pm

Saturday/Sunday 10am - 8pm

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pick up soil and deliver clean linen to hospital and hospitality clients in a protected and timely manner. Ensure delivery schedules are followed as per service contracts. Complete any special requests.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Main Responsibility

· Complete pre-trip inspection of truck at start of shift.

· Ensure all fluid levels are toped off and vehicle is fuelled up.

· Ensure to load proper carts for either hospital or hotel.

· Ensure loads are properly secured with cargo straps.

· Obeys designated truck routes.

· Ensure to deliver carts to the proper locations.

· Ensure all scheduled deliveries are completed in a timely fashion.

· Report any maintenance required to Freight Manager.

· Ensure all soil linens are picked up from hospitals or hotels.

· Present a positive image of K-Bro through professional appearance and conduct.

· Preform any other assigned tasks requested by the Freight Manager.

2. Secondary Responsibility

· Drives courteously and obeys all traffic laws to reflect a professional company image on the roadways.

· Be aware of and adhere to Hospital/Hotel procedures and Health and Safety polices.

· Adheres to K-Bro uniform requirements.

· Wears correct P.P.E. for driving (work gloves, steel toe safety shoes/boots, appropriate outerwear for weather conditions).

· Adheres to K-Bro uniform requirements.

· Performs area safety check and inspection logs of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, flare kits and truck phones.

· Reports any injury.

· Reports unsafe work practices (i.e. dangerous work habits)

· Right to know

· Right to refuse unsafe work.





· Responsible for performing work in a safe manner by following safety rules, regulations and emergency evacuation procedure.

· Adhering to Company Policies / Procedures and Industry Standards.

· Adherence and awareness of Blood Bourne Pathogens Policy, Sharps Policy and PPE

Policy.

· Be aware of and adhere to Hospital/Hotel procedures and Health and Safety polices.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

This position reports to the Freight Manager.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: Minimum High School

Experience: 1 – 2 years in Delivery Industry

· Clean drivers abstract.

· Successfully pass Security Clearance.

· Bondable

· Class 5 Drivers licence required.

· Air Brake endorsement required.

· Safe Driving training/courses are an asset.

Security: Criminal Record Check

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

· Exceptional customer skills with both internal and external clients

· Fluent English verbal, reading and written communication

· Basic computer skills.

· Knowledge of vehicle mechanical issues.

· Knowledge of city streets and addresses.

· Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve with clients

· On site training offered

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· The position requires driving a truck and work requires continual physical effort all day such as sitting, stretching, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing in/out of the truck cab and trailer, push, pull carts up to 850lbs.and lifting up to 80 lb..

· Exposure to varying ground temperatures, road and traffic conditions (i.e.

slippery/wet ground surface) and traffic conditions.

· Exposure to low-level noise from machines in the plant.

· Exposure to lint/dust particles in the air.

· Exposure to humidity and heat.

Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour
