Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Services, the Accounting Clerk will play a pivotal role in financial and accounting oversight for Colleges Ontario and College Employer Council. This part-time (0.6 FTE or 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) permanent position is ideal for someone looking for long-term, stable part-time employment with a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

· Process accounts payable by verifying, coding, and entering vendor invoices, obtaining approvals, posting AP batches, and processing EFT and cheque payments

· Process employee expense claims and credit cards

· Prepare and issue customer invoices and process AR batches

· Set up and maintain vendor and customer accounts

· Organize and maintain accurate records of all invoices and financial documentation

· Prepare journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring proper account classification

· Prepare, reconcile, and file HST returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission

· Support the month-end and year-end processes and provide assistance with audit requests

· Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as needed

Qualifications

· Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or AP/AR roles,



preferably in a non-profit environment

· Working knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or ASNPO)

· Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage300) and MS Excel

· Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· A team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
