Techsploration’s African Nova Scotian (ANS) Cohort

Over the last two years, Techsploration has developed an African Nova Scotian (ANS) cohort to increase program participation and engagement of ANS youth with family ties to one or more of the 52 Historic African Nova Scotian communities. The cohort centres around approximately three Techsploration teams – each comprised of up to eight female and gender diverse ANS students in grades 9 –12. Each team is matched with a female or gender diverse ANS role model working in STEM and/or the skilled trades as they move through the core program.

In addition, Techsploration is working to recruit more ANS students, teachers and role models to participate in all aspects of the program (not just within the ANS cohort).
