Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Afterschool Teacher specializing in Public Speaking and Social Studies to inspire and educate young learners in a dynamic afterschool environment. This role offers an exciting prospect to foster students’ communication skills, cultural awareness, and social development through engaging lessons and interactive activities. Duties

- Design and deliver engaging lessons focused on public speaking, social studies, and language skills in Mandarin, English, French, Spanish, or Japanese.
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages participation, confidence-building, and respectful communication among students.
- Develop age-appropriate activities that enhance students’ social awareness, cultural understanding, and presentation abilities.
- Provide personalized tutoring support to help students improve their language proficiency and academic performance.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.




- Collaborate with parents and fellow educators to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
- Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment aligned with school policies and standards.

Experience

- Prior experience working with children in educational or afterschool settings is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage diverse learners effectively.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required; additional language skills such as French, Spanish, or Japanese are a plus.
- Demonstrated writing skills for lesson planning, student assessments, and communication purposes.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching public speaking, social studies, or related subjects is desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for young learners’ social-emotional growth and language acquisition.
- Classroom experience that showcases creativity, patience, and adaptability in dynamic learning environments.
