Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and innovative AI and IT Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions across our organization. In this role, you will harness your expertise in cloud platforms, operating systems, programming languages, and DevOps practices to create scalable, secure, and efficient architecture frameworks. Your leadership will drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize IT infrastructure, and ensure seamless integration of artificial intelligence applications with enterprise systems.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about shaping the future of technology, this is your prospect to make a significant impact.
Key responsibilities
- Security architecture: Design and own the end-to-end security architecture of our deep-packet-inspection appliance and supporting software, including secure data handling, on-device inference, and network-sensor deployment.
- AI/ML for security: Lead the design, training, and evaluation of locally hosted models for anomaly detection, traffic classification, and analyst-assist tooling — ensuring models run on controlled infrastructure without exposing sensitive client data.
- Senior engagement oversight: Provide qualified supervision and sign-off on Tier-2 client engagements, including penetration testing and ethical-hacking work, ensuring engagements run under proper authorization and rules of engagement.
- Audit and compliance leadership: Guide the technical methodology behind our security audit service, mapping controls to recognized frameworks (CIS Controls, ITSP.10.171 / CPCSC, cyber-insurance attestation requirements).
- Threat and risk analysis:
Translate findings from DPI and assessment work into remediation guidance and product improvements, closing the loop between the services and product lines.
- Standards and governance: Establish secure development practices, control attestations (including MFA enforcement and access governance), and documentation suitable for government and enterprise clients.
- Research and development: Contribute to R&D; initiatives that underpin the company's intellectual property, including maintaining records suitable for SR&ED; and innovation-funding purposes.
- Mentorship: Guide junior testers and engineers toward hands-on certification and sound security practice.
Qualifications
Highly Preferred
- Senior-level information security certification — CISSP or CISM — with demonstrated architecture or governance responsibility.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of network security, packet-level analysis, and defensive architecture.
- Practical experience with penetration testing / ethical hacking and the ability to supervise it (OSCP, CEH, or equivalent demonstrated skill strongly preferred).
- Working knowledge of applied machine learning as it relates to security — anomaly detection, model training and evaluation, and the tradeoffs of on-device vs. cloud inference.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance regimes relevant to Canadian and government buyers.
- Eligibility to obtain a Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability / Secret) — the successful candidate will be sponsored for screening.
Optional
- Experience with server-class hardware (e.g., Dell PowerEdge / AMD EPYC) and building or deploying network appliances.
- Exposure to CPCSC / NIST SP 800-171 / ITSP.10.171 readiness.
- Experience in a startup or early-stage product environment.
Pay: $55.00-$60.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
