The CWC is currently accepting applications for the position of Aquatic Programmer, reporting to the Head of Aquatics. This role supports day-to-day program administration, participant communication, and operational coordination for registered and drop-in aquatic offerings, including swim lessons, leadership courses, Wave programs, aquatic fitness classes, and specialty programming

Key Accountabilities

1. Program Administration & Member Service

- Act as the first point of contact for aquatic program administration, including swim lessons, aquatic fitness programs, and specialty aquatic offerings
- Manage program-related communication (emails and phone calls), registrations, waitlists, transfers, cancellations, and general inquiries
- Address member and participant concerns, escalating as appropriate
- Maintain accurate program schedules, class offerings, and participant records, supporting program setup and administration

1. Wave Program Administration

· Serve as the primary administrator for the Wave program, including curriculum development of the program, registration oversight and participant tracking · Regularly communicate program details and updates to participants and families

· Collaboration with Tsunami’s, Sea Sprites, and Sea Lions coaches to support skill development opportunities and guest instruction

· Provide administrative and operational scheduling support, including mid-season and end-of-season events

· Assist with reporting, data, and organizational tasks to support continuous program evaluation

1. Staffing & Operational Collaboration

· Collaboratively support staffing and scheduling requirements with the Aquatic Supervisor · Liaise with aquatic program staff and aquafit instructors, to coordinate availability,



coverage, substitutions, and program updates

· Communicate program changes impacting staffing and daily operations in a timely manner

· Actively support onboarding, training, coaching and mentoring of instructors

1. Program Development & Data Support

· Work directly with the Head of Aquatics to build and maintain programming data, participation tracking, and basic reporting · Assist with tracking and updating, aquatic program offerings, including swim lessons and aquatic fitness class schedules, descriptions, and participation data

· Support development, setup, and administrative implementation of new aquatic program offerings

· Contribute to continuous improvement through data input and operational feedback

Knowledge & Skills Required

1. Strong, professional, timely and effective customer service and communication skills
2. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment
3. Demonstrated initiative and accountability for administrative tasks and follow through independently
4. Ability to collaborate with supervisors, instructors, and administrative staff

Qualifications

1. 2–3 years of aquatic leadership experience or experience in an equivalent administrative or coordination role, preferably within an aquatic, recreation, or sport environment
2. Comfortable working a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, with occasional early mornings, as required by program and departmental needs
3. Proficiency with registration systems, data entry, scheduling tools, and basic reporting
4. Intermediate First Aid and CPR C/AED required
5.



National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor certifications required
6. Swim Abilities Instructor, National Lifeguard Instructor, and Trainer-level certifications are assets
7. Aquatic Fitness and Therapy certifications considered assets
8. Lifesaving Sport Coach and other aquatic or sport coaching certifications considered assets
9. Familiarity with Lifesaving Society policies and procedures and Alberta Pool Standards and Regulations
