We are a growing boutique archaeological firm completing Stage 3 and 4 Archaeological Assessments across Southwestern Ontario and are hiring for the 2026 fall field season. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team, working hands-on to preserve Ontario’s cultural history.
Location: Various project sites across SW Ontario (travel may be required)
Position Type: Seasonal / Contract
Start Date: Fall 2026
Pay: Competitive – begins at $22/hr, based on experience

We are seeking Archaeological Field Technicians to assist with Ontario-based cultural resource management (CRM) projects, including Stage 3–4 archaeological assessments and excavation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Stage 3 and 4 excavation
- Accurately record field notes and complete Ontario-standard documentation
- Identify and document artifacts in accordance with MCM guidelines
- Use GPS and other field equipment
- Work safely in varied terrain and weather conditions
Requirements · Previous experience in physically demanding outdoor work (construction, landscaping, etc.) is a strong asset.
- Degree (completed or in progress) in Archaeology/Anthropology or related field preferred, but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work (i.e., shovelling, screening soils, lifting 20-40 lb buckets of soil).
- Willingness to travel within Ontario
- Valid full G Class driver’s licence is considered an asset
Assets
- Previous Ontario CRM experience
- Familiarity with MCM (2011) Standards and Guidelines
- First Aid/CPR certification
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
