This part-time opportunity allows you to shape your schedule while working one-on-one with students in-home and making a meaningful impact on their confidence, learning, and academic progress.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct personalized tutoring sessions based on each student’s academic goals, learning needs, and support requirements.
- Support students with ASD, learning differences, or special education needs using patient, versatile, and structured teaching strategies.
- Be a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, overcome challenges, and develop stronger learning habits.
- Adapt lessons, communication, pacing, and activities to match individual learning styles and needs.
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting students with ASD, special education needs, learning differences, or diverse learning profiles.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, educational assistant, childcare, or youth-support experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to creating a supportive, encouraging, and positive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies and provide individualized support.
Requirements:
- Ability to provide in-home tutoring.
- Located in Winnipeg, preferably in or near the Central Winnipeg/Wolseley area.
- Reliable transportation.
- Current or willingness to obtain a vulnerable sector police check.
- ASD experience is strongly preferred.
Additional Assets:
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in a B.Ed., B.Sc., Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Special Education, or related program.
- Certified Teacher.
- Experience working as an Educational Assistant, Behavioural Interventionist, Respite Worker, or Support Worker.
- Experience supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, executive functioning challenges, or other learning needs.
