Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Plant Manager to support our manufacturing operations. This pivotal role involves assisting in overseeing daily plant activities, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Support the Plant Manager in coordinating daily manufacturing operations to meet production goals efficiently.
- Assist in implementing process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Monitor production schedules within ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Collaborate with teams on quality control initiatives to uphold product standards and reduce defects.
- Contribute to supply chain management by tracking inventory levels and supporting procurement activities through MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.
- Promote a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits.
- Support assembly line operations by troubleshooting mechanical issues and ensuring equipment maintenance.
- Assemble mattresses following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and collaborate with other employees as needed.
- Report quality control issues affecting customer orders to the operations manager.
- Resolve work-related problems and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or construction work setting
- Experience in manufacturing wholesale and furniture making would be considered an asset
- Prior experience supporting or managing assembly lines is preferred.
- Completion of high school education or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical and very organized with the ability to multitask
- The ability to work overtime when needed may be required
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such or other similar platforms; experience with MRP systems is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies including lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of supply chain processes, inventory management, and quality control standards.
- Ability to analyze manufacturing data and implement continuous improvement strategies effectively.
