Join Chena Swim Club as our next Youth White Assistant Coach!
Chena Swim Club is North Vancouver’s premier competitive swim team, with a proud legacy of developing athletes from their first competition to the National and International stage. We are a values-driven club guided by integrity, connection, passion, resilience, and achievement — qualities we believe are essential to developing, supporting, and inspiring a community of champions in and out of the Pool.
We are recognized for our exceptional member satisfaction and for having a strong, supportive culture. We are a not-for-profit club built on a sustainable financial foundation and are poised for an exciting future, including the move to the brand-new Harry Jerome pool in 2026.
We are seeking a Youth White Assistant Coach to help our swimmers develop to their potential. This is a recent 2x/wk position that has been created to invest in our club’s next generation of swimmers. The ideal candidate is someone who is energetic, adaptable, is an excellent teacher, and wants to contribute to our younger competitive swimmers.
The successful candidate will be working with the Youth White group - a group of 18 intro-level competitive swimmers aged 10-13 (Grade 6-7), swimming at a level with 100 IM personal bests of under 2:30, and 200 IM times from 4:00 to 4:45. They will write and lead swim practices that support the vision of the Youth White Lead Coach, and collaborate with our Head Dryland Coach on supporting our dryland programming.
This position does not require attendance at swim meets. This is a weekday coaching arrangement coaching 2x/week in North Vancouver.
Given the collaborative nature of the dryland component of this position, the coach will receive mentorship from the Head Dryland Coach, and is a great opportunity to develop skills in this area.
Core Duties
Directly coach the Youth White training group (plan/coach swims, assist dryland)
Additional Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with policies established by the Board of Directors.
Comply with reasonable instructions and directions from the Head Coach and/or Board of Directors.
Maintain personal compliance with Swimming Canada and Swim BC coaching standards.
Follow all Swimming Canada policies, including SafeSport, and always maintain personal compliance.
