Role Description

GSG LAW is seeking an Associate Lawyer (Corporate / Commercial) for a full-time hybrid role based in Surrey, BC, with partial remote flexibility.

The successful candidate will work directly with business owners, investors, and corporate clients on a broad range of corporate/commercial and real estate matters. This role offers significant client exposure, autonomy, and growth opportunities within an entrepreneurial and expanding practice.

Responsibilities include

- Incorporations, reorganizations, and corporate maintenance matters
- Share and asset purchase transactions, business acquisitions and sales
- Drafting and reviewing shareholder agreements, commercial agreements, and corporate documents
- Corporate due diligence and transactional support
- Assisting with commercial financing, private lending, and secured transactions
- Advising clients on business structuring, succession planning, and general corporate matters
- Managing files independently while collaborating with the firm’s lawyers and staff
- Residential and commercial real estate conveyancing, including purchases, sales, refinances, private mortgages, and related closing documentation




- Managing real estate files from opening through completion and post-closing matter
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and referral networks

Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in British Columbia
- Minimum 1 year of experience in corporate, commercial, business, real estate, or related legal practice areas
- Experience handling residential and commercial real estate conveyancing files is considered an asset
- Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with corporate transactions and legal documentation
- Familiarity with conveyancing procedures, lender requirements, and land title registrations in British Columbia is an asset
- Ability to independently manage files and prioritize competing deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client service orientation and professional judgment
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
- Experience in private lending, commercial transactions, or wills & estates is considered an asset
