Associate Veterinarian
Abbotsford, BC.
Full-time, permanent position, working in clinic.
Introduction
We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join our client team located in Abbotsford, BC . This role will focus primarily on clinical work while developing their skills in surgical and dental procedures.
The successful candidate will combine medical knowledge, teamwork, and emotional intelligence to deliver excellent patient care and client service. This is a full-time permanent opportunity available immediately.
Full-time requires 40 hours per week, 8 hour/day, 5 days/week, Saturdays rotation needed),
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in delivering excellent patient care while contributing positively to the team setting.
- Provide wellness exams, client education, dentistry, rehabilitation, in-house grooming, and a variety of surgical procedures.
- Perform in-house diagnostics and support emergency cases.
- Work as the sole veterinarian in the clinic, managing your own caseload independently.
- Perform soft tissue surgery including routine procedures such as spays, neuters, and mass removals.
- Conduct dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, and extractions.
- Manage and stabilize urgent and emergency cases as they arise.
- Contribute to treatment planning, medical decision-making, and continuity of care.
- Offer rehabilitation services and support general patient recovery plans.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a DVM (must have).
- Posses a Certificate of Qualification issued by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association National Exam Board (NEB).
- Must hold a license with the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia (CVBC).
- Comfortable with routine surgeries and basic dental procedures (must have).
- Confident performing routine soft tissue surgeries (spays, neuters, mass removals, etc.).
- Competent in dental procedures, including extractions.
- Strong medical judgment, case management skills, and decision-making ability.
- Ability to manage appointments, surgeries, and medical cases without on-site mentorship.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on client education and patient care.
- French/English bilingualism is considered an asset.
