Automotive Body Closures Project Chief Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON

Position: Long-Term Contract

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Body Closures Project Chief Engineer to lead body closure commodities throughout the complete vehicle program lifecycle—from concept and design through sourcing, validation, launch, and warranty.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Body Closure systems including Doors-in-White, Hood, Fender, Liftgate, and Static/Dynamic Sealing.
- Collaborate with Product Planning, Styling, Product Design, Engineering, Suppliers, and Manufacturing teams.




- Develop feasible technical solutions while supporting cost, weight, investment, and program timing targets.
- Lead supplier sourcing, design release, tooling, testing, validation, and program execution.
- Coordinate component- and system-level validation and develop recovery plans for program risks.
- Provide supplier and assembly plant launch support during pilot and production phases.
- Lead resolution of quality, reliability, and warranty issues following vehicle launch.

Ideal Candidate

- Automotive engineering experience in Body Closures, Body Systems, or Exterior Components.
- Hands-on experience with doors, hood, fenders, liftgates, sealing systems, or exterior trim.
- Strong project/program management and supplier management experience.
- Experience with design release, tooling, validation, vehicle launch, and quality/warranty resolution.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
