Banno Auto Repair is looking for an experienced and motivated Automotive Service Advisor to join our growing team!

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, understands the automotive repair industry, and can help create an excellent experience for our customers from the moment they contact the shop until their vehicle is back on the road.

As a Service Advisor, you will be an important link between our customers and technicians. You’ll help customers understand their vehicle’s maintenance and repair needs, prepare estimates, coordinate work with the shop, provide updates throughout the repair process, and ensure every customer receives clear, honest, and professional service.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers professionally and assist them with their automotive service and repair needs.
- Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries in a friendly and timely manner.
- Schedule appointments and help manage the daily workflow of the shop.
- Create and manage repair orders, estimates, and customer work authorizations.
- Communicate customers' concerns and requested services clearly to technicians.
- Review technician inspections and recommendations and explain required or recommended repairs to customers in an easy-to-understand way.
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs, maintenance, parts, and labour.
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed.
- Keep customers informed of vehicle status, repair progress, completion times, and any changes to the original estimate.
- Coordinate with technicians to help keep jobs moving efficiently through the shop.




- Help prioritize repairs and communicate customer deadlines or special requirements to the team.
- Recommend maintenance and repairs based on vehicle condition, manufacturer recommendations, and technician findings without using high-pressure sales tactics.
- Prepare completed repair orders and review invoices with customers when their vehicles are picked up.
- Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, and repair-order information.
- Assist with parts and supplier communication when required.
- Follow up with customers when necessary and help maintain solid long-term customer relationships.
- Work closely with technicians, management, and other team members to improve workflow, productivity, and the overall customer experience.
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming front counter and customer area.

Requirements
- Previous experience as an Automotive Service Advisor, Service Writer, or similar automotive customer service position is preferred.
- Strong understanding of automotive maintenance, repairs, and common vehicle systems.
- Automotive technician or parts experience is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and long-term customer relationships.
- Comfortable explaining technical automotive information to customers in clear,



straightforward language.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple repair orders, customers, phone calls, and priorities throughout the day.
- Comfortable working with computers, automotive shop-management software, email, and other digital systems.
- Strong attention to detail when preparing estimates, repair orders, and invoices.
- Ability to work effectively with technicians and other team members in a busy automotive repair environment.
- Professional, dependable, and able to take ownership of customer concerns from start to finish.
- Valid driver's licence required.
