Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical components, and HVAC systems using advanced hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid replacements, and inspections on vehicles.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to interpret mechanical diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams for exact troubleshooting.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing phases, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify vehicle parts.
- Maintain detailed service records,
complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities while practicing heavy lifting techniques to handle large parts or machinery.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Hands-on experience working with cars, pickups and medium duty trucks.
- Proficiency in electrical systems diagnostics and schematics interpretation.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for complex repairs.
- Experience operating heavy equipment safely in various industrial or construction settings.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and maintenance needs.
*This position is open to Canadians, Canadian Residents and Canadian Work Permit holders ONLY. Pay: $28.00-$36.92 per hour
Education
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
Experience:
- Automotive repair: 5 years (required)
