We’re looking for a Part time AV Technician to join our technical operations team and play a key role in delivering seamless events and immersive experiences.

Position Summary The Part-Time AV Technician is responsible for the daily setup, monitoring, and shutdown of all AV systems within the Illuminarium experience. This role ensures that immersive venue and interactive elements operate smoothly and provides in office troubleshooting for any technical issues that arise.

The ideal candidate will have experience with WATCHOUT, QSYS, and TouchDesigner, and a solid understanding of projection, lighting, and sound systems. This is a hands-on technical role in a fast-paced, guest-facing entertainment environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Power on and off all AV systems daily, including projectors, media servers, lighting, and audio systems.
- Operate and maintain WATCHOUT, QSYS, and TouchDesigner systems used for immersive show control.
- Create and deploy custom immersive content and venue wraps for events, integrating client creative into WATCHOUT, Q-SYS, and TouchDesigner to transform our venue and bring experiences to life.
- Monitor and maintain playback systems to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues in real time, escalating to management when necessary.
- Perform system checks, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs.
- Support special events,



private rentals, and other technical activations.
- Maintain accurate logs of system performance, incidents, and updates.
- Assist in implementing hardware and software upgrades as directed.

Qualifications

- 1–3 years of experience in AV operations, show control, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated proficiency with WATCHOUT, QSYS, and TouchDesigner.
- Strong understanding of projection mapping, lighting, video playback, and audio systems.
- Willingness to obtain Working at Heights and scissor lift operator certification.
- Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and resolve issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions

- Part time role: approximately 15–25 hours per week.
- On-site position at the Illuminarium Toronto Distillery District.
- Requires standing for extended periods and working in low-light environments.
