Club has been supporting boater education and safe, responsible enjoyment of Okanagan Lake since 1945. Our facility is a resource for community partners such as the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and Adaptive Sailing Association.
SUMMARY OF POSITION The Banquet Server plays a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences during events and functions. This position involves providing friendly and skilled service, ensuring accurate order taking and delivery, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Servers are responsible for event setup, compliance with alcohol service regulations, and providing seamless coordination with team members to ensure smooth operations. With a focus on quality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction, the Banquet Server upholds the highest standards of hospitality, contributing to memorable and successful events.
COMPENSATION
- Full-Time, hourly position ([Insert Rate of Pay per Hour]).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Interaction
- Greet and serve event attendees and members in a friendly and polite manner.
- Acknowledge guests promptly and ensure they feel welcome and attended to throughout the event.
- Answer questions about the event menu,
features, and service offerings accurately.
Event Setup & Preparation
- Verify event setup is accurate and all necessary items are available for smooth service.
- Ensure workstation and tables are properly stocked and organized before the event begins.
- Replenish supplies on tables and in workstations as needed during the event.
Service Excellence
- Provide timely and accurate order-taking and delivery.
- Inspect each plate for appearance, correctness, and presentation before serving.
- Follow up with guests promptly after delivery to ensure quality and satisfaction.
Alcohol Service Compliance
- Adhere to all regulations governing the service of alcohol, ensuring compliance with government codes and policies.
- Monitor guest consumption and follow established procedures for responsible alcohol service.
Cleanliness & Maintenance
- Clean and wipe down all tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies according to Club standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the event.
- Observe all industry safety standards to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
Professional Presentation
- Demonstrate and maintain excellent grooming and uniform standards.
- Represent the Club professionally and uphold its values during interactions with guests and team members.
Team Collaboration
- Work respectfully with colleagues to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to contribute to a successful event.
Respectful Workplace
- Maintain and promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace culture.
- Ensure lost and found items are handled according to Club policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be minimum of 19 years of age.
- Previous experience in banquet, catering, or hospitality roles; preferred ideally in a hospitality or private club setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven team player with interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with staff, members, and guests.
- Certification in Serving It Right (or equivalent).
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
