Compensation & Total Rewards (Benefits) Manager Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Since 2013, we have been redefining the furniture industry one sofa at a time, it’s not easy — it requires solving challenging, meaningful problems. This is where you come in, as our Compensation & Total Rewards Manager , you’ll own and evolve how we approach compensation and benefits for Particles across our diverse workforce including Canada, the US, Vietnam. As Article grows in complexity across our Vancouver HQ, Vietnam office, North American warehouses, and expanding retail store network, our compensation and benefits programs need to grow with us.

Until now, our P&C; Business Partners have done a phenomenal job wearing multiple hats to keep this work moving, including managing complex annual compensation cycles for their growing client groups. Our annual compensation budget planning begins shortly, so you’ll have the opportunity to jump in and take ownership of meaningful work right away. You’ll do all this while growing your skills within a company that is redefining the furniture industry.

About the People & Culture Team: We’re a team of 16 Particles across Talent Acquisition, Business Partnership, Learning & Development, and Internal Communications. You’ll work from our Vancouver HQ a minimum of 3 days per week, including Tuesdays and Thursdays. Own Article’s annual compensation cycle end‑to‑end, including budget planning, governance, job benchmarking, manager communication, and execution.

Lead our salary benchmarking and market pricing process, including managing relationships with compensation survey providers and completing annual reviews of our salary ranges. Build and maintain compensation structures for our workforce across Canada, the US, Vietnam, and international employees through our Employer of Record (Deel), spanning corporate, Retail, Customer Care, and Logistics roles.



Price new roles and manage Article’s job catalogue in our HRIS, HiBob.

Own and evolve Article’s job architecture and leveling framework, helping ensure roles are priced and leveled consistently as the business grows. Provide compensation training and guidance to managers and employees on compensation policies and practices. Lead our pay transparency work and BC pay equity reporting.

Keep a pulse on total rewards trends and market competitiveness, bringing forward creative, practical solutions as Article scales. Partner with the People Operations team on a clean handoff between benefits strategy and day‑to‑day plan administration. Turn compensation and people data into clear insights that help P&C; and business leaders make informed decisions. 7+ years of progressive compensation experience, including at least 2- 3 years owning an annual merit or compensation cycle end‑to‑end, including budget planning, governance, communication, and execution. ~ Hands‑on salary benchmarking and market pricing experience, including direct relationships with compensation survey providers such as Radford, Mercer, Aon, or similar. ~ Experience building and maintaining salary structures using compensation survey and market data. ~ Experience designing compensation structures across multiple employee populations, including corporate, Retail/frontline, and hourly/Logistics roles. ~ Multi‑country compensation experience, ideally including Canada and the US (we also have an office in Vietnam). ~ Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.





You’ll be a primary point of contact for managers and employees on compensation policies and practices and will need to build credibility quickly.

Technical Skills Advanced

Excel or Google Sheets skills for compensation modeling and analysis.

Experience managing, extracting, and analyzing compensation and employee data within an HRIS.

Experience supporting international employees through an Employer of Record such as Deel.

Experience supporting a mix of corporate, Retail, Customer Care, warehouse, or Logistics employee populations.

Experience with pay transparency and pay equity reporting.

Experience building or evolving total rewards programs within a growing organization. Occasional travel may be required to support US or Vietnam stakeholder and vendor relationships.
