Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) – Financial Services / Platform Modernization

Location: Remote with 1 day/week onsite in Burlington, ON

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support major technology modernization initiatives within a financial services environment.

The organization is actively modernizing multiple enterprise platforms, applications, and customer-facing portals supporting credit and fraud-related products . These are funded initiatives already underway, with some projects having approximately six months of remaining work and others forming part of longer-term one-to-two-year modernization roadmaps.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong BSA who can work effectively across business, product, architecture, development, QA, and project teams and quickly contribute to active transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology delivery teams.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and manage complex business, functional, and system requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical and functional requirements for delivery teams.
- Support application, platform, legacy, and portal modernization initiatives.
- Analyze existing systems, processes, integrations, and data flows to determine impacts and future-state requirements.
- Work closely with developers, architects, Product Owners, project managers, QA, and other technical stakeholders.
- Identify and document business rules, data requirements, system dependencies, interfaces, and integration requirements.
- Support technology initiatives involving enterprise Java applications, DB2 databases, credit/fraud platforms, and system integrations.




- Ensure regulatory, compliance, privacy, security, and risk requirements are incorporated into solutions.
- Facilitate requirements workshops with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog items, and requirements documentation within an Agile environment.
- Participate throughout the full delivery lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
- Communicate complex business and technical concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

- Significant experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst, Senior BSA, or Technical Business Analyst supporting complex enterprise technology initiatives.
- Strong experience within Financial Services , including banking, credit services, lending, payments, insurance, fintech, or similarly regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience with technology transformation, application modernization, platform modernization, legacy transformation, or digital transformation .
- Experience working in environments with significant regulatory, risk, security, privacy, or compliance requirements .
- Robust understanding of Agile methodologies , including user stories, backlog refinement, acceptance criteria, and requirements traceability.
- Experience working closely with technical teams including developers, architects, QA, and product teams.
- Ability to understand and document complex systems, integrations, data flows, interfaces, and dependencies .
- Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate comfortably between business and technology teams and translate complex concepts for different audiences.
