Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, part-time 3D Modeler & CAD Technician to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between physical automotive components and digital designs. You will receive physical automotive parts and builds, accurately measure them, and replicate them precisely in CAD software. Additionally, you will be responsible for creating clear, skilled instruction packages based on these models.
Responsibilities
- Reverse Engineering: Take precise physical measurements of' automotive parts ar assemblies using manual tools (calipers, micrometers) or digital measuring equipment.
- 3D Modeling: Replicate physical parts accurately into high-quality 3D digital progr models.
- File Management: Receive, organize, and manipulate incoming part files from various formats.
- Documentation: Design and build comprehensive step-by-step instruction and assembly packages based on the 3D models.
- Quality Control: Cross-reference digital models against physical parts to ensure perfect fitment and accuracy
Skills
- Experience: Proven experience in 3D modeling, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks,Fusion 360, Inventor, or similar).
- Measurement Precision: Strong ability to pull exact measurements from complex, physical automotive geometries.
- Communication: Excellent technical writing skills to produce clear, easy-to-follow instruction manuals.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for accuracy, tolerances, and mechanical fit.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
