As an Information Technology (IT) Management Systems Analyst, you will provide IT expertise and representation for Calgary Police Service (CPS) business areas to successfully deliver value-based solutions that resolve business problems and support operational initiatives. In this role, you will support the ongoing sustainment, enhancement, and continuous improvement of mission critical public safety systems by acting as a bridge between operational business groups and technical teams to translate business needs into effective, sustainable technology solutions.

Primary duties include

- Provide IT expertise and representation to operational business areas in support of mission critical public safety technology solutions.
- Act as a bridge between operational business groups and technical teams to align business needs, operational priorities, and technology delivery.
- Coordinate the intake, assessment, prioritization, and tracking of enhancement requests, operational improvements, integrations,



and new capabilities.
- Support governance and leadership decision making through research, analysis, recommendations, decision requests, and implementation planning.
- Develop and maintain forward looking plans and roadmaps for system enhancements, integrations, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and support business analysis activities including business groups engagement, requirements gathering, process analysis, solution evaluation, and documentation.
- Coordinate testing, operational readiness, training support, change management, and implementation activities associated with system enhancements and releases.
- Facilitate collaboration among operational business groups, technical support teams, vendors, and partner organizations to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Monitor system performance, operational issues, business groups feedback, and emerging business needs to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate multiple concurrent projects, initiatives, and operational improvement efforts supporting the long-term sustainability of public-safety technology platforms.

Qualifications

- A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; OR
- A 2-year diploma and a minimum of 8 years of related experience supporting business systems, operational technology, enterprise applications, technology initiatives, or complex multi-party business environments.
- Working knowledge of Agile project delivery principles, practices, and methodologies is required.




- Experience supporting Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems or other mission critical operational technology platforms is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and translating requirements into technology solutions, as well as coordinating technology initiatives including system enhancements, projects, implementations, and continuous improvement activities.
- Experience working within complex multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional, or governance-driven environments where priorities must be coordinated across multiple business groups is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with operational, technical, and leadership business groups, supported by strong communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Union: CUPE Local 38

Position Type: 1 Permanent

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $48.54 - 64.88 per hour

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.

Days of work: This position works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Location: 5111 47 Street N.E.
