Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Campaign Lead provides coordination and strategic oversight for Wood’s Homes Foundation’s capital campaign and major gift fundraising initiatives. This role works collaboratively with Foundation staff, Wood’s Homes leadership, campaign volunteers, Board members, donors, and community stakeholders to achieve campaign objectives and fundraising targets.
The position is responsible for cultivating and stewarding major donors, supporting campaign volunteers and committees, overseeing campaign activities and events, and reporting on campaign progress and outcomes. It plays a key role in advancing philanthropic support for the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of Wood’s Homes.
As a leadership role, the position is expected to model Wood’s Homes’ values through collaboration, accountability, innovation, donor-centered engagement, and a commitment to safe and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Leadership and Strategy
- Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of capital campaign initiatives.
- Develop campaign goals, strategies, timelines, budgets, and performance measures.
- Monitor campaign progress and recommend adjustments to maximize fundraising success.
- Ensure campaign activities align with Foundation and organizational priorities.
- Track milestones and support leadership in achieving campaign objectives.
Major Gift Fundraising and Donor Relations
- Identify,
cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors and prospects.
- Develop and implement individualized donor engagement strategies.
- Manage a portfolio of high-capacity individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Prepare donor proposals, case statements, impact reports, and stewardship materials.
- Build meaningful and long-term relationships that enhance philanthropic support.
Board, Volunteer, and Community Engagement
- Support Foundation Board members, campaign volunteers, and campaign champions in fundraising activities.
- Recruit, orient, and support campaign volunteers and committees.
- Provide training, tools, and resources that enable volunteers to participate effectively.
- Foster relationships with community leaders and stakeholders that advance campaign objectives.
Communications and Events
- Collaborate with Foundation and Communications personnel to develop campaign messaging and promotional materials.
- Support donor recognition and stewardship initiatives.
- Coordinate campaign-related events, donor receptions, recognition ceremonies, groundbreakings, and other stewardship opportunities.
- Represent Wood’s Homes Foundation at community and donor engagement events as required.
Reporting and Administration
- Maintain accurate donor and campaign records using Raiser's Edge NXT or other fundraising systems.
- Monitor fundraising performance and campaign metrics.
- Prepare reports and presentations for Foundation leadership, Board members, campaign committees, and stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to fundraising policies and practices.
Qualifications Education
- A university degree in Fund Development, Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, or a related discipline is required.
- Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in fundraising, donor relations, major gifts, or campaign management.
- Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and building donor relationships.
- Experience supporting Board members, volunteers, and fundraising committees.
- Capital campaign experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT or similar donor management systems.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of Moves Management and major gift fundraising strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Solid project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
