Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods over designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Load and unload cargo with proper handling techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation activities
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff,
and customers to coordinate delivery schedules
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any vehicle issues promptly to ensure optimal performance
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated
- Proven experience in driving large trucks or commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely as part of loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and transportation best practices
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards safety and customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules as needed
