UBER Building Solutions is looking for a positive, hard-working and reliable experience/certified carpenter to join their growing team. We are a family orientated, licensed custom home builder/general contractor company operating in Penticton and the southern parts of the Okanagan. Along with building new homes, we do larger scope renovations, along with providing in-house fabrication.

Applicant should have at least five years of carpentry experience and have a thorough understanding of rough, finish carpentry, and all trades associated with residential and commercial construction.

The position requires the ability and willingness to work in a team and a willingness to interact with other UBER Building Solutions employees and clients. Strong communication skills are vital.

All candidates must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and their own set of basic tools (impact driver, measuring tape, hammer, etc... All other tools provided on each project).

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications
- Perform carpentry tasks with the highest quality of craftsmanship in the time allotted.
- Keep informed of the entire project scope including revisions, change orders or changes to the scope of work and the schedule.
- Capable of taking and following directions from supervisors and other trades/professionals.
- Ability to operate heavy tools, machines, and other equipment.
- Compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Responsible for job site safety, cleanliness, security and protection from the elements
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills.
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination.
- Knowledge of mathematics
- Comfortable working on multiple job sites




- Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
- MUST Maintain a valuable attitude even through adversity.
- Be able to problem solve without the direction of superiors
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial or residential carpentry

: Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints is a MUST. Duties will include but not be limited to building foundations, installing floor beams, laying sub-flooring and installing walls and roofing systems/framing. Fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, molding and hardware; insulating. Measuring, cutting and joining materials made of wood or wood substitutes, metals, etc...

Schedule: Official workday is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday- unless otherwise discussed due to specific project needs.

Compensation and Benefits: Hourly pay. Weekly pay period that runs from Thursday to Friday. Paid Stat holidays.

Physical Demands: Employees may be required to stand or walk over 65% of the time. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling may be required. Lifting up to 85 - 100 lbs. Must meet vision requirements to obtain a driver’s license.

Work Environment: Employees will be required to work in outdoor and indoor settings. Working in wet, cold or hot conditions may be required. Working near moving mechanical parts. Working in high or precarious places may be required. Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites.

Wage: $34-$40/hr depending on experience and skill set. Benefits offered after 3 months.
