POSITION OVERVIEW

Sanitation crew members are responsible for ensuring the plant to cleaned and sanitized at the end of the day according to food safety requirements.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

3 months+ experience in a food manufacturing or sanitation environment

Power washing experience considered an asset

Previous experience working with chemicals considered an asset

WHMIS, HACCP and first aid training preferred

Solid organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision





Able to adapt to changes and open to learning new ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively

Good verbal and written skills in English

Able to demonstrate politeness, respect, and courtesy in communication and daily interaction

Capable of hand scrubbing, holding onto a hose and squeezing nozzle trigger for long periods of time

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines to get the job done

Able to fill in daily check sheets per HACCP requirements

Excellent time management skills

Able to concentration when using equipment and chemicals to ensure the safety of self and others

Able to lift/carry 50 lbs, crawl, bend, reach and use a ladder

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clean and sanitize facilities and equipment as scheduled and as per written procedure and instructions

Document cleaning performed

Complete all HACCP forms as required

Inform Maintenance Crew of any equipment concerns

Comply with all company policies

Attend all required training courses

Inform Supervisor of equipment wear or damage

Inform immediate Supervisor of any conditions that could affect food safety

Follow established HACCP, biosecurity, and health and safety procedures

Assisting co-workers where and when needed

Do not remove or make ineffective any protective devises required by the employer or by the regulations

Perform other duties as assigned
