We are looking for a passionate individual to join our small but dedicated group. We operate a before and after school program for children aged 7-12 within L'École Bilingue (a French immersion public elementary school located in Vancouver's West side). This is a casual/on-call position.

Qualifications

Basic ECE &/or 20 hr Responsible Adult Course

Other Qualifications Required

*Valid first aid certificate

*Experience working with children in a child care facility*Must have exceptional communication skills

*Valid food safe

*Creating a welcoming & engaging environment

*Program planning & implementing appropriate activities that reflect the individual and group interests and needs of children

*Providing for the health, safety and emotional wellbeing of children

*Building and maintaining strong relationships with families

*Maintaining supportive, cooperative relationships with La Garderie staff

*Awareness and maintenance of licensing regulations within the child care facility

Key Responsibilities





*To provide appropriate supervision of children both within the facility and outdoors

*Ensure that the centre meets & follows all legal requirements & licensing regulations

*To ensure the environment is healthy & safe for children

*To build & maintain respectful relationships with children

*To assist children with reminders of cleanliness/hygiene, La Garderie rules & manners.

*To appropriately redirect & guide children's behavior

*To document behavior & interactions of children when necessary

*To plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities

*To establish & maintain open lines of communications with staff & families

*Daily set up & take down of facility equipment

*Some snack preparation & light cleaning duties

Employment Terms: Part-Time

Start Date: ASAP

Hours of Work

On-call Shifts- Mon-Fri 7:30am-9:30am and from 2:30pm-6:30pm

Must be available for full 4-8 hour shifts on all professional/district closure days.

Salary & Benefits: $20-$24 per hour depending on experience.Additional Notes:
