Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Engineer Technician to join our agile engineering team. In this role, you will support civil engineering projects by preparing technical drawings, conducting site inspections, and assisting with project management tasks. Your expertise will contribute to the successful planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects across various sectors including construction, manufacturing, and oil & gas.

Duties

- Prepare detailed technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software tools.
- Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and reports utilizing Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure construction compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Support project management activities by tracking progress, managing documentation, and coordinating between teams.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate system designs and schematics.
- Perform analysis using MATLAB, Python, or other programming tools to optimize system performance or troubleshoot issues.




- Participate in construction inspection activities and maintenance planning for civil infrastructure projects.

Requirements

- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are a plus for international or diverse team environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with experience in manufacturing or construction industries.
- Demonstrated expertise with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and CAD drafting tools.
- Familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, system design principles, schematics interpretation, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with construction inspection processes and laboratory testing procedures is desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams; excellent organizational skills and time management are essential.
- Technical skills in analysis (Math, MATLAB), programming (Python), system maintenance, and microcontroller programming such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Previous experience in civil or structural engineering projects related to oil & gas or infrastructure development is advantageous.
