We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Civil Earthworks Superintendent to lead and oversee excavation and earthworks projects. This pivotal role involves managing daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across all phases of construction, across multiple jobsites.

The ideal candidate must possess a solid background in civil construction, demonstrated supervisory experience, and proficiency with construction management tools.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise excavation and earthworks crews, including, but not limited to operators, pipelayers, and labourers.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to interpret project scope accurately and plan excavation and civil earthworks activities.
- Coordinate inspections and testing.
- Ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Monitor work to ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality control measures, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure work complies with company standards, schematics, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, engineers, and suppliers to align project objectives and resolve issues promptly.
- Track quantities, manpower, equipment hours, and daily progress.
- Maintain daily reports and communicate progress to management.
- Conduct regular site inspections documenting progress, identifying potential issues/risks,



and facilitating communication with the project team.

Experience

- Proven supervisory experience (minimum of 5 years) in civil excavation or earthworks projects within the construction industry.
- Must understand all facets of excavation, watermain and sewer installations, pipelaying, soil types, trenching, paving, etc.
- Able to read and interpret construction blueprints and schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality control.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring clear documentation.
- Prior experience supervising teams on complex civil projects.
