Montessori House of Children (MHC), established in 1974, is proud to be the first Montessori school in Brantford. For over 50 years, we have been dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, and enriched environment where children can grow, explore, and learn with confidence.

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner / Facility Assistant to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of MHC, both indoors and outdoors. This is a full-time position suited for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

Indoor Duties

- Daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, washrooms, and office areas.
- Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
- Restocking supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues.
- Helping keep storage and common areas organized.

Outdoor Duties

- Keeping entrances, walkways, and outdoor areas clean and tidy.
- Cleaning and organizing outdoor play areas.
- Light yard maintenance and gardening.
- Assist with seasonal outdoor clean-up.
- No heavy snow removal required.

General Support





- Assist educators with appropriate general tasks when needed.
- Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the Supervisor.
- Help maintain the overall appearance of MHC.

Qualifications

- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Able to work independently.
- Valuable attention to detail.
- Comfortable performing indoor and outdoor cleaning duties.
- Previous cleaning or maintenance experience is an asset but not required.
- Comfortable working in a childcare environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Required

- Vulnerable Sector Check (required upon hire).
- First Aid/CPR is an asset.

Compensation Final wage will be discussed during the interview.
