- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to establish machining sequences, setups, tooling strategies, and process requirements.

- Select appropriate cutting tools, workholding, fixtures, and materials to improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and cost.

- Partner with Engineering and Production to design, refine, and document manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions.

- Perform CNC machine setup, prove-out, calibration, and troubleshooting to confirm machine readiness and compliance with quality requirements.

- Analyze production data and machining performance to identify opportunities to improve cycle time, uptime, yield, and process capability.

- Lead structured root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues, process variation, and non-conformances.

- Collaborate with Quality to ensure finished components meet drawing requirements, dimensional tolerances, surface-finish expectations,

and applicable inspection standards.

- Maintain accurate, controlled CNC program libraries, setup documentation, tooling information, and revision history.

- Drive continuous-improvement and lean-manufacturing initiatives that increase productivity, reduce waste, and strengthen process consistency.

Qualifications and Technical Skills

- Demonstrated proficiency in CNC programming and solid working knowledge of CNC lathe (Swiss-Turn will be considered an asset) equipment and machining operations.

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, dimensions, tolerances, and surface-finish requirements.

- Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to apply design information to manufacturing-process development.

- In-depth knowledge of machining methods, cutting tools, workholding, setup strategy, and cutting parameters.

- Strong troubleshooting, data-analysis, root-cause, and corrective-action skills.

- Working knowledge of lean-manufacturing principles and continuous-improvement methodologies.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Production, Quality, and shop-floor personnel.

- Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and commitment to safe, high-quality work.
