Adecco is currently hiring an Advisor, Communications & Stakeholder Relations for a 12-month contract opportunity in Mississauga, ON. This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced communications professional with a background in corporate communications, public affairs, stakeholder relations, event planning, or public relations who excels at developing clear messaging and building strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
In this position, you will support the day-to-day communications needs of the Lubricants & Specialties business, helping plan and execute internal and external communications, community investment initiatives, events, and stakeholder engagement activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders.
- Salary: $34/hour

Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day communications planning and execution, including employee communications, leadership messages, business updates, and stakeholder-facing materials.
- Provide communications support for a 12-month project, including planning, updates, follow-up activities, and impact reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Human Resources, Legal, Operations, Commercial, Government Affairs, and business leaders to ensure communications are aligned, timely, and appropriate for intended audiences.
- Support community investment initiatives by drafting communications materials, coordinating approvals, tracking activities, and communicating the organization's community impact.
- Plan and support events, meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Coordinate event logistics, run-of-show materials, briefing notes, invitations, presentations, and post-event follow-up.
- Support stakeholder relations activities by maintaining stakeholder lists, preparing outreach materials, coordinating engagement plans, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Draft, edit, and coordinate communications materials, including key messages,
FAQs, newsletters, intranet content, presentations, briefing documents, social media content, and stakeholder correspondence.
- Monitor communications activities and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities to improve message clarity, engagement, and consistency across channels.
- Maintain corporate brand standards and ensure communications reflect the appropriate tone, voice, visual identity, and approval requirements.
- Work collaboratively with executives, business partners, and cross-functional teams to support communications priorities.
- Complete special assignments and other communications-related tasks as assigned.
- Follow all applicable health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Identify and report unsafe work practices or conditions.
- Participate in safety and environmental meetings, training, emergency drills, and hazard recognition programs.
- Report accidents, injuries, and near misses and participate in associated investigations as required.
Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, stakeholder relations, event planning, or public relations.
- Experience supporting day-to-day communications, events, community investment initiatives, or stakeholder engagement is preferred.
- Experience within the energy, government, manufacturing, or industrial sectors is preferred.
- Experience coordinating community investment activities, events, and stakeholder engagement is considered an asset.
- Strong written communication and editing skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach with sound qualified judgment.
- Experience developing communications materials for internal and external audiences.
- Experience collaborating with executives, business partners, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in AP Style is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with collaboration and communication platforms such as SharePoint is considered an asset.
- Ability to work effectively in an office-based and hybrid environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting or carrying up to 40 lbs. when required.
