Job Summary
We’re looking for an energetic and approachable Communications Facilitator to help us share our message and connect with diverse audiences. In this role, you’ll be the voice behind our initiatives, crafting clear messages, supporting outreach efforts, and ensuring our communications are engaging and accessible. If you love storytelling, research, and making a difference through effective communication, this position is perfect for you!
Related responsibilities include:
- Producing all FMM communications and ensuring that these communications give voice to the communities that we serve, the impacts of our work and the stories of our journey in a way that is meaningful to the public, our partners, and our stakeholders.
- Managing Food Matters Manitoba’s website, monthly e-newsletter, and social media accounts, including consistent, engaging content creation, application and software maintenance, and reporting on impact and reach.
- Assisting the Executive Director in the creation of a Marketing and Communications strategy.
- Creation or supervision of additional content such as short videos, interviews which capture community voices, promotional posters, and more when needed.
- Responding to relevant media requests, crafting newsworthy talking points, and maintaining relationships with media contacts as needed.
- Assisting with other work-related tasks as assigned.
About You
- A go getter with social media savvy
- Excellent creative writing/communication skills
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Understanding of marketing concepts
- Work well, both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to learn
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
- High level of computer knowledge, including MS Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Hootsuite
- Knowledge of, and interest in, food security is considered an asset
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is desirable
