Job Summary The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the organization’s visibility, community presence, and stakeholder engagement through effective communications, public education, outreach, and digital engagement strategies. This role develops and delivers communication initiatives that promote organizational programs, services, events, and impact while fostering meaningful relationships with community members, partners, funders, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
- Community Engagement, Awareness, and Advocacy
· Serve as a key liaison between Lanark County Interval House and Community Support and the community. · Build and maintain credibility in the community as a spokesperson for the organization.
· Advocate for the organization's mission and goals within the community.
Public Education & Training
· Workshop development & facilitation: create and deliver workshops on healthy relationships, consent, bystander intervention, and the dynamics of violence, tailoring content for diverse audiences (youth, professionals, community groups).
Content Creation and Campaign Management
· Research, create, and manage content for existing public education and new awareness campaigns.
· Create and manage content for the organization’s website, media releases, brochures, and social media platforms that aligns with feminist principles and agency mission.
Stakeholder Engagement/Training and Professional Development
· Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, experts,
and educators. Focus on reaching out to schools and engaging with youth to educate them about healthy relationships, consent, and violence prevention.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in a relevant field (e.g., social work, public relations, education, or History of successful engagement with schools and youth to educate them on topics like healthy relationships, consent, and violence prevention.

- 5+ years of experience in community engagement, public education, and violence prevention.
- An understanding of issues related to violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, or similar topics.
- Solid research skills to stay informed about current trends in violence prevention and victim support.
- Familiarity with using social media and online platforms for campaign management and public outreach.
- Familiarity and experience working from a trauma informed, harm reduction approach.
- Knowledge of community resources.
- Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid Training
- Valid Driver’s Licence
