We are currently seeking an experienced and highly organized Concrete Dispatcher to join our Ready-Mix Concrete operations team.

The Concrete Dispatcher plays a critical role in keeping our concrete operation running efficiently. This position is responsible for coordinating ready-mix trucks, communicating with drivers, customers, plant personnel, and field crews, and ensuring concrete deliveries arrive safely and on schedule.

We are looking for someone who can stay calm under pressure, think ahead, communicate clearly, and manage a fast-paced schedule where priorities can change throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

- Schedule and dispatch ready-mix concrete trucks to customer and company job sites.
- Coordinate daily concrete orders, delivery times, truck availability, and plant production.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, plant operators, supervisors, and field personnel.
- Monitor truck locations and delivery progress throughout the day.
- Adjust schedules as required due to traffic, weather, job-site delays, equipment issues, or changing customer requirements.
- Ensure trucks are utilized efficiently while minimizing delays and unnecessary downtime.
- Confirm customer orders, delivery locations, quantities, mix requirements, and requested delivery times.
- Provide drivers with clear and accurate instructions regarding deliveries and job-site requirements.




- Communicate delays or scheduling changes promptly and professionally to customers and operations staff.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation.
- Assist with resolving delivery issues and customer concerns.
- Work closely with the Concrete Superintendent and plant personnel to ensure daily production and delivery requirements are achieved.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and customer service.

Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous dispatching experience, preferably within the ready-mix concrete, trucking, construction, aggregate, or transportation industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn dispatching, GPS, and fleet-management software.
- Experience working with truck GPS tracking or dispatch-management systems would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of ready-mix concrete operations would be a strong asset.
- Good understanding of trucking operations, driver hours, job-site logistics,



and scheduling.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an operations team.
