About the role:

The Contract Procurement Specialist reports to the Manager,Strategic Sourcing and Distribution and is responsible for leading complex, high value and strategic procurementactivities, including managing the sourcing and contracting process for goods, services, capital equipment,construction and consulting services. The Contract
Procurement Specialist leads and facilitates formal procurementprocesses for goods, services and capital equipment while working with a diverse portfolio to maximize valueand to foster positive working relationships with departments, clients and vendors. The Contract ProcurementSpecialist provides procurement expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders and supports and mentors theProcurement Specialist and other departmental staff in the management of procurement activities.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, or equivalentwork experience and post‑secondary education
- 5 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experiencerequired, including demonstrated experience leading formal competitive procurement processes
- Strong working knowledge of applicable Buy Ontario Act andBroader Public Sector procurement directives, trade agreements and public procurement requirements
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with computerized systems for purchasing, inventorymanagement, distribution and control required
- Experience with online public tendering software (i.e. Biddingo,Bonfire, MERX, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and software
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated high levels of initiative, resourcefulness,flexibility and adaptability
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manageworkload and adapt quickly to a quick‑paced, dynamic work environment
- Demonstrated superior communication skills, oral and written
- Collaborative approach to problem solving with a solution drivenfocus
Assets:
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) or other publicprocurement designation
- Experience working in a healthcare environment
Salary Range: $43.840 to 54.800
